I know this blog is supposed to be for my Tutu's but, I just came across a few things that forced me to stop what I was doing and ponder for a moment.
I'm going to get personal for a moment and talk about my life, my family, my country, and the men and women that defend it. Here is MY about me. I am 29 years old, I've been married for almost 5 years. I have 3 children, two boys and a little girl. They are 4, 3, and 4.5 months. For 5 years my main job has been that of Stay at home Mommy. My other job has been to endlessly support my husband, despite 3 moves in 5 years. He gets up at 340 am to be at work by 445. Often he does not get home until after 7 or 8 pm, and that is all God Willing, when he is home at all. Brian is a simple guy, who just so happens to be in the United States Army. We've weathered deployments, and will again, I'm sure.
I try to avoid the news, but I do have more current event saavy people in my life who pass along things to me. Sometimes its easy as a military spouse to focus on the little things, like the crappy hours, lousy benefits (and they really aren't that great sometimes) the horrible housing, post ect.. , than it is to see the bigger picture.. Sometimes, or at least I do, I forget to be greatful of the fact that he is HOME, that he is SAFE. Sometimes its easy to forget that as MY husband comes home, Another Woman's husband replaces him. As a military wife, who grew up a military brat, I should appreciate this fact more than most.
How, as a military wife, do we comfort one of our own ranks? How do we tell her with every fiber of sincerity in our bodies how SORRY we are for her LOSS, when we just want to run home and hug our husband? Loss.. I hate that word. I hate the implication of that word in relationship to death. Loss.. Like losing keys, or money. Our soldiers, saliors, marines and Airmen are not LOST over there, they are killed. Every DAY they lay their lives down so that we can sit here in the states and bitch about the economy and healthcare, and we can continue to live our comfortable lives.
Do you know what happens when a military member dies? That someone in uniform comes to their door to tell them.. often they must meet the plane carrying thier heart and soul within just a few days. They must get a funeral together, and within THIRTY (30) days, they must along with their children and household goods VACATE housing. That's right.. within 30 days of their spouse dying they must leave the last home that they shared with him, pack up everything they own and try to find a new place to live. You and I know that its not always easy.
So remember today as you go on about your lives, that despite how much they are in the news, there are people dying for your freedom.

Hello!

So right now I have 2 tutu's I need to be working on. I have the desire, however I'm waiting on TulleSource to deliver my order so that I can get started. I ordered several colors of tulle fabric, and I haven't decided what colors I'm going to use for this project. I want to try some new things, and I'm seriously thinking of getting a bedazzler. I also want to learn how to embroider. I've recently joined a craft group in my area, so I'm hoping to learn some new skills.
Well the kids are crazy, so it looks like off to work for me. I will post some photos tomorrow of some of the tutus I've already made, and I'm seriously thinking of adding a tutorial on how to make simple tutus.. I started out making NO SEW tutu's but now I use some very basic sewing because in the end you have a sturdier product.

Welcome to Precious Tutu Project
Posted in on 11:21 AM by Precious Tutu ProjectWith the New Year came the idea to try and get myself up and running with a tutu business. I made my first tutu for my niece while I was pregnant with my daughter Emma, and I was instantly hooked. What little girl doesn't like being a precious princess? So of course I then had to make one for Miss Emma Grace.
Pretty much I started making them for friends daughters, and got such great responses of how I should sell them, that I figured that I'd give it a shot, and see how it goes. Right now I'm starting out small, and eventually there will be more than just tutus. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you keep coming back for more info, photos and tidbits. :)
